The scene: This rustic Italian restaurant and wine bar specializes in the foods of Venice and Southern Tuscany. The restaurant is accommodating to different allergies and budgets. The food: Dino is known for both its wine bar and cheese selection. Specialties include wild boar chop and a wild boar ragu with pasta. Pastas are thoughtfully offered in half servings. The vast dessert menu features unusual gelato and sorbet flavors such as strawberry balsamic and strawberry margarita. Every night there are a few special deals. My choices for the $27 three-course special included a delicious cheese course, steak with salad, and chocolate espresso opera cake. The kid appeal: Kids eleven and under can eat a three-course meal for the price of their age. Appetizers include prosciutto with mozzarella, calamari, and a light and tasty meatball. Steer your children towards the delicious homemade pastas or polenta rather than the more pedestrian hot dog and grilled cheese. Children will love the vanilla or chocolate gelato with chocolate sauce. Noise level: Moderate to loud. High chairs/boosters: Available. Changing tables: Available. Review by Beth Meyer.
