Operation ResCute Product Review + Giveaway
Many parents want to teach their kids about giving back and helping others but struggle with finding appropriate ways to do so. A good lesson in giving back to the community can be through helping animals. Mom and NYC marketing researcher, Laurie Brown-Nagin, was inspired to step in and help when she saw a puppy being carried away by an animal control officer. Her family adopted Jingles but wanted to do more to help other animals in need of a home and get more kids involved in helping rescue animals. Her answer? Operation ResCUTE™ pups and books.
Laurie put together a package with a children’s book all about saving Jingle and a Jingle stuffie in hopes that ResCUTE will encourage children and their parents to adopt a pet in need rather than buying one from the pet store or a breeder.
My kids enjoyed reading the story of Jingle and learning how families can help pups in need of a home. They also like cuddling with their very own Jingle! Best of all, all profits from sales of Operation ResCUTE™ sets are donated to shelters to assist with adoption of shelter dogs.
Did you know that only 30% of pets in homes come from shelters and rescue organizations? If you want to learn more about rescuing a pet from a local shelter, here are some great local organizations: Montgomery County Humane Society, Animal Welfare League of Arlington, Animal Welfare League of Alexandria, Fairfax County Animal Shelter, Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, Lost Dog & Cat Foundation and Lucky Dog Animal Rescue. Did we miss one that you like? Drop us an email and we’ll add it to the list.
